Asphalt plant equipment

We have an asphalt production plant with a capacity of 110 ton/hr, designed to suit the specific needs required by any kind of work. This is ideal for all types of mixes, both regular and polymer-modified mixes, all of which complies with the designs duly approved by the MOP .

We are currently located on Vía Tocumen on the Plantel Industrial estate, Panama City.

Process:

The materials used to manufacture hot mix asphalt are:

  • Powdered stone
  • 67 grade stone (¾" gravel)
  • Grade 7 stone (½" gravel)
  • AC-30 asphalt
  • Additives

First of all, the asphalt (AC-30) needs to be kept in a heating tank at the proper temperature to make it fluid. Aggregates should be stored on hand and kept well separated to prevent contamination.

The aggregates are fed into each of the plant hoppers by means of a loader truck and must be properly identified and labelled with the name of each material.

The plant operator is given the approved mix design, whose formula is programmed into the dosing plant display panel.

Once aggregates are loaded into the hoppers and the dosing set-up has been entered in the plant computer system, they are mixed and poured onto the fast band according to the design formula. From there, they are fed into the drum drier, which dries, heats and blends them to the required temperature.

After that, the AC-30 asphalt is injected into the mix through the feed line that goes to the silo. Once in the silo, it is ready for shipment.

The system includes continuous quality control to check the design parameters and quality of the end mix.
