Preval submits candidacy for the 3rd Edition of the Health and Safety Awards

In April 2016, Preval submitted its application to participate in the "FCC Health and Safety" competition as an active member in the launch of the 3rd edition of the awards. The competition aims to acknowledge and promote the work, dedication and value that the company and its employees grant to risk prevention in the workplace throughout all areas of action.

Under the title: Ergonomics in palletising during the de-stacking stage. (Manufacturing process of prefabricated products), Preval is taking part in order to demonstrate how to optimise the productivity of the worker and the system whilst guaranteeing their satisfaction, health and safety within the manufacturing process of prefabricated products.
The process focuses on the incorporation of the palletiser as an automatic piece of equipment during the de-stacking stage, which is a step to be taken for risk prevention in the workplace at the La Valdeza prefabrication plant. This implementation has accomplished the following:

  • General reduction of risks in the workplace during the manufacturing of pre-fabricated concrete products, achieved by incorporating the automated system in palletising work.
  • Enhanced standard of living of employees carrying out the activity.
  • With the implementation of the palletiser, employees minimise the possibility of ergonomic hazards and strains, as they concentrate on other tasks in line with their attributes and skills.
  • Drop in the number of absences due to work-related disabilities.
  • Improved inventory, which directly enhances customer service.
  • Optimisation of production system, which achieves higher daily yield.

The jury's decision will be announced in July 2016.
